Paper Stencil – Bespoke Workshop

This session showcases the artwork created by a mother and daughter team, they desired to create new artwork for their new home and booked a day session at the West Yorkshire Print Workshop, Mirfield.

Paper stencils are a diverse, quick method to create shapes, these paper pieces are laid onto the paper and trapped between the silkscreen during the printing process. This means you are free to ‘play’ with planning the paper pieces. Paper stencils can last for several ‘pull-through’ prints before they need replacing.

At the start of the session, we discuss aims and objectives, themes, and colourway. During the sessions, I support and suggest a variety of methods, encouraging experimentation and exploring colour combinations through the printing process.

Together they created a varied portfolio of aquatic-themed Artwork, showing simplicity, complexity in colour and layering.
