These workshops were funded by Kirklees Councils Young People Service, delivered at Creative Arts Hub, Diva, and West Yorkshire Print Workshop during the school holidays to children aged 8 to 12 years old.
Each animation was created and produced during a one-day session. The morning session explores the materials and computer software, this immediately shows the participants the fun and time complexity of producing a stop motion animation, which informs the character design, stage setting, and story.
With artist Damian Clark we worked with a group of six children and worked closely with them to define a story, produce a storyboard, stage setting, model characters. In the afternoon they work as a team to operate the computer software, position their character, and bring it to life through animation.
